---Engineered for the most demanding probing requirement, the TNP Model MP-100 High Resolution Micropositioner is precision-built for micropositioning to ever smaller Industry Standards. Featuring linear motion on all three axes, the MP-100 provides today's most precise level of control for sub-micron probing.

Other key components include:

  • Ball-bearing slides, allowing backlash-free, half-inch, tri-directional linear motion.

  • Pivoting, non-conductive probe holder, for more accurate measurements and convenient probe replacements without moving the unit base.

Features and Dimensions

Sub-micron Resolution  MP-100 resolution is 100 TPI, or less than 1 micron.
Pivoting Probe Holder The probe holder swings toward the operator, allowing easy probe replacement without moving the unit's base.
Non-conducting Probe Holder  Effective in eliminating ambient interference and RFI, EMI.
Smooth movement with Zero Backlash Ball bearing probe construction eliminates backlash while assuring the smoothest possible movement.
Unsurpassed Stability  The large base with either magnetic or vacuum attachment provides stability for sub-micron probing.
Linear probe positioning To simplify probe positioning, all X, Y, and Z motion are linear. The probe always moves in a straight line, never in an arc.
Quarter to Half-Inch Travel distance Travel distances are full ½ inch in the X and Y-axes and ¼ inch in the Z-axis.
Flexible Design Options The MP-100 is available with either magnetic or vacuum base, and in both right and left-handed layouts.
Triaxial and Active Probe are available   Enabling low-level, high frequency measurements.

Triax Probeholder Specifications

Probe Mounting: Gold plated BeCu pin jack designed to hold .0185"-.0200" diameter; probe shank. (optional collet assy)
Dielectric:Teflon
Construction: Probeholder is made from gold plated brass tubing with an OD of 0.134"± .002. The cable is inserted through tube to probe mounting jack where the guard is terminated .300" from end. The signal pin is shielded to within .050" of end. Only the exposed disposable probe is unshielded to minimize noise. Test results range from 20 ¦A to 1 pA depending on test setup and probe station configuration.
Mounting: Various styles depending on micropositioner configuration and application.
Cable / Termination: The cable length is 8" to 1.2 meter (specify), and is terminated to a 3 lug BNC connector (male or female/specify).
